late in the night during fitful dreams
Tempting and alluring...I lose myself
carried forth into her world of illusion

I see her face during waking hours
reflections in the window panes summon me
A voice on the breeze to caress my heart
pulling me toward that which I cannot have

Quiet reflection will never come
mounds of regret trip me...I stumble
I search for the answers to questions not asked
weary of chasing unattainable goals

I find myself wandering lost and alone
grasping at auras of violet and blue
Intent on filling this nothingness inside
feeding on memories bittersweet

Reason abandons me in my prolonged quest
missing opportunities offered freely
I understand not to try is to fail...to fall
though failure is all that awaits me

So alone with my thoughts I await the night
anticipation and anguish on my brow
Closing my eyes I plead for her to come
and wrap me in her withering embrace
