trying out a new one
trying to hide what was
once discovered

he was out the door before
she could draw breath
watching his retreating back
she wondered how long
the pieces would stay pieces
before they became whole again

she sits here, resting in
resentful passion
using him to keep her
from reckless one night
misunderstandings
when she knows all she wants
is to wash the feel of you
off her skin

what has she learned?
the heated fire has burned
the scar onto her breast
the name of a man she can’t bear
to speak
a sin she is doomed to repeat

Dri,

...to the extent that tortured emotions are able to create beauty...you are Beautiful...but it is such an ungodly hurt being that Beautiful...

...take care of yourself...to the extent that thoughts are able to transmit encouragement, I'm maxed out on my end...

...do take good care of yourself...
