Wishing for the comfort
Of anothers strong arms.
Holding back tears,
Lonliness sets in.
After all these years,
I could use a good friend.

I wish someone were here
To kiss away my fear.
I wish someone were here
To wipe away my tears.
For all in this world
I need another soul.
A kindred spirit.
Someone with courage
To fill this hole.

I've found, over time
Life is hardest alone.
Without another to share
All of it's woes.
I dream of the day
When my gloom will lift.
Light will pour into my abyss.

He will hold me safely,
All worries forgotten.
Whisper in my ear
Comforting words of strength.
He will brush my hair
Away from my face.
Look me in the eye
Without an ounce of disgrace.

I dream of this man
This pillar of strength.
A man like no other,
Courage never misplaced.
Until he comes,
Alone I will sit.
Try and hide my fear,
Until the fire is lit. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 491 [topic] => 75 [informant] => dragonfly [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 7 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => anguished )

Misery needs company, I have a lost love and im miserable like you in some sense but being a male emotions can be supressed which eventually turns to indifference, thank god for that or id be gloomy all my life otherwise, but there there, there there...

this write, while a little simplistic for my taste, has a blatant kind of honesty that i can admire.
i think we all know what it's like to be alone.
