Isn't our God so much bigger than him?
The Boogie man has so many names -- you see...
Which name do you make him out to be?

Is it a marriage that lost it's "happy ever after"?
Due to the husband's "toys" he seeks after?
Has all the wedded bliss suddenly lost it's charm?
Do you run and scream and cry out with alarm?
Does the car get more attention than you,
as the spending of funds buy car trinkets or tools?
Doesn't he know that you're dying within?
Doesn't he know that you're just wanting him?
After all the world says be happy or leave.
This Boogie man's name is "Divorce" can't you see?

Why are we afraid of the Boogie man?
Isn't our God so much bigger than him?
The Boogie man has so many names -- you see...
Which name do you make him out to be?

What about your wife not being the same as before?
Doesn't she care about how she looks anymore?
If she'd only keep herself thin--
Doesn't she know: fats out -- thins in?
What does she do with herself all day?
Watch her soaps, while munching away?
Does housework pile up till you come home?
Does she seek work through paper -- by phone?
Doesn't she know the marriage can mend?
After all this old world says be happy or leave.
This Boogie man's name is "Discontent" don't you see.

Why are we afraid of the Boogie man?
Isn't our God so much bigger than him?
The Boogie man has so many names -- you see...
Which name do you make him out to be?

Doesn't life treat you in all ways BUT fair?
Does it really feel like there's no one who cares?
Parents seem hateful and that's for sure.
Why do guys make a young girl's heart stir,
Then treat her mean and leave her behind.
Why can't people treat teenage girls kind?
Don't people know that thoughts of suicide lurk within?
Don't they know it's a desparate cry for love you're cravin'
After all -- all around you hear be happy or leave
This Boogie man's name is "It's All About Me".

Why are we afraid of the Boogie man?
Isn't our God so much bigger than him?
The Boogie man has so many names -- you see
Which name do you make him out to be?

A young man cries out with such hate and despair --
Why do parents trap him and seem not to care?
The freedom he seeks is just out of his reach
Yet adults just lecture and hope they will teach
Stay in school and learn and then get a job someday
'The world can wait for you,' that's what they all say.
You think you can handle the world's problems out there
Just give you a chance and let the problems beware
You can conquer this world -- this you truly believe
This Boogie man's name is "Pride" that you build and conceive

Why are we afraid of the Boogie man?
Isn't our God so much bigger than him?
The Boogie man has so many names -- you see...
Which name do you make him out to be?

Meanwhile the Lord is watching and letting you alone
Until you quit fighting and come make the Lord, your own.
We so stubbornly think we can handle it all
We just close our two ears and are deaf to His call
None of us like all the problems we face
And all those Boogie men aren't dressed in lace
Yet to give up and give our control to the Lord
Is hard to sever the reigns of self with Pride's sword
Peace is not what this world has to give
Choose the Lord's side and with His joy -- Live

We don't have to fear the Boogie man!
Our Awesome God is bigger than him!
The Boogie man may have many names -- you see...
But we will trust in Jesus who sets us free! [comments] => 4 [counter] => 620 [topic] => 19 [informant] => Lin54 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )

You are so correct, trust in Him to keep you safe by night and day. When we do this, we do not have to worry about a boogie man who is small and powerless.. Raquel Leah says, wonderful write, I enjoyed it a lot.
