Array ( [sid] => 11178 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Everything I Am [time] => 2003-01-25 02:40:00 [hometext] => Hey!
This is my first post on this website, and I thought I would put my best work first. I hope you all like it. It describes how I feel about myself and I can not seem to rely on anyone because in the end they cant do anything to make me feel complete. Thanks.

Linny [bodytext] => “Everything I Am”

I’m not one to wonder if my shoes are on the right feet.
Just as long as I’m standing, I’m okay.
And I wonder what you think of when you look at me.
Would I feel better if I knew what you know
Or would I be better off without you.

I can’t bare to see myself in the eyes of someone else.
For fear that what I see will turn myself against me.
I hold myself up in front of a mirror to the world,
A mirror that will shatter and break when it sees the life I face.

And I cant help but wish to be someone else.
I cant turn around and pretend
That I am who I want to be, because in the end,
I hide everything from you,
Everything I am

I know I can turn to you,
But that’s not the road I want to take.
My secrets despise the truth it seeks,
And I know that no matter what,
All the things inside of me,
Are too much for you to handle.

Maybe I am better off without you
I can face the demons by myself.
I wont drag along behind you
But I will tie my own shoes on my own two feet.

And I cant help but wish to be someone else.
I cant turn around and pretend
That I am who I want to be, because in the end,
I hide everything from you,

It's a pleasure to read your first poem here Linny...it's a heartfelt and well written portrait of yourself and I'm looking forward to reading more of yours. Welcome to YPDC.

My dear Linny, just try to face men with self confidence before facing demons. Your poem is alright..wish you good luck. Venkat
