The sky is dark, clouds are heavy, Lightning everywhere
The thunder booms and hides the moon And wind blows through my hair
The sounds of storms in autumn form depict my worst nightmares

With treetops flying, and people dying, I just want to go home
But the ocean came to New Orleans and swallowed it up whole
And now my house is not a house to which that I can go
The wind and rain ripped and drained and made it home to mold

Now weather has its enemies and maybe I was one...
But I don't see what it was I did to warrant what was done
Now maybe somethin someone did somewhere set it off
But what's it got against us? All we have is Mardi Gras... your enemy is not the wheather it's God. all you have is mardi gras and you dont know why this disaster happend! mardi gras is drinking drugs sex and homosexuals new orleans was a "party" town little babylon. so i do feel for you all to an extent but maybe you should think of the way you live your life and think about not living so far below sea level
good write

Maybe the enemy is he, don't know, been religously abused, I believe in if there's good there's evil, if there's a good being, there's a bad being, don't know what to call the one up there, for I don't know his real name, been religously abused.

Other then that, this poem was really good, I liked the words you used for the rythym. SLipSiX.

great poem. really powerful.

and outlaw, whats wrong with homosexuals? you shouldnt spread such hate or if god made the hurricane to get the wicked, then id better watch out if i were you, and besides, there isnt room for millions of people to live anywhere else

i am not one to comment on my own poem although i think this is one instance it is needed ... outlaw, i very specifically left god out of this poem. mardi gras is a celebration as the last day to indulge, the day before lent. God would not punish us for this, so long as we respect lent... i think you are wrong in making the comments you did

and i also think it is wrong to accuse for living below sea level. imagine me telling you to leave your home city because there is a 1/1000 chance it could be destroyed by a hurricane.

your comments were very immature and disrespectful ... thanks to the others who posted, however
