Array ( [sid] => 111648 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => My Continuing Saga [time] => 2005-12-17 10:41:28 [hometext] => This isnt the best, im the first to admit it, but after so long without writing anything and so many things changing i had to put it in words, its just me, so its ok if you dont like it [bodytext] => I look in the mirror
Dab on the concealer, and lip gloss preparing to go to work
I love my job, I know it sounds strange, but I do
Then I hear the knock at the door

It’s been almost a year since the day I stopped
It’s been hard but I’ve had my friends and family to help
I thank God every night for never letting me win
I guess he does know what he (or she) is doing

My blood no longer makes crimson artwork across my sheets
I no longer hide the blade that had once been my only friend
It’s been washed and thrown away, forever from reach
And I no longer feel lost without it

I’ve been through so much this year
I’ve really loved for the first time
And had my heart really broken for the first time
But unlike others, I revel in it

I could be dead right now
I used to want to be
I could be watching my parents visit my grave and remember the pain
When its supposed to be a happy time

I’m a junior in high school, only one more year to go
Sometimes I cant believe that I still have so much life to live
So many more plans to make
So many more dreams to fulfill

I’m not saying I have a perfect life now, believe me its still far from that
Some days are good, some are bad
But I look forward to what’s to come
To college, a career, a family, everything

So many new possibilities have opened up to me
So many new people have entered my life
I take each day as it comes
And I will never give up the fight

I just know now
That if you ask me what I want most
I’d reply :
To live

As I get to work I walk through the kitchen door
I take my shoes off and sit on the couch
I hear two pairs of feet running down the steps and I turn to look
Two little girls round the corner

I hear them scream my name and feel them throw themselves into my arms
I look in their eyes and smile
At that moment there is so much hope in the world
And I vow here and now that I will protect them as best as I can from the demons that had once taken me over [comments] => 3 [counter] => 443 [topic] => 31 [informant] => kisser89 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 3 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )

Wow, a truely said, yet heartfelt poem, I loved it. The last stanza of the poem made me cry. SLipSiX.

When today is started, it begins another tomorow.
