I like long hikes on the moon
These city lights are watching us
And we watch them too

Now the breeze blows harder
We're lost, and we both know it
We squint our eyes harder
We're nervous, but we don't show it

Let's hold each other closer
At least we won't lose one other
We'll await our fate together

I genuinely enjoyed this piece
The first two lines, I believe, expressed the main message or theme of the poem.
Common differences…perhaps superficial?
“These city lights are watching us
And we watch them too”
I liked these lines best.
They can be interpreted in so many ways.
Something so simple, can become something so complex.
I very much admire the structure, scheme and flow of this poem…it some how did not strain to rhyme.

I agree with Roman the first verse says it all for me. There is a nice effortless flow to this, well done.

Beautiful poem... nice rhythm... nice rhyming... It is also somehow universal. People from diverse backgrounds can bring their own interpretations to it and relate to it in their own ways.
