Array ( [sid] => 111434 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => QUESTIONS FOR CHRISTMAS [time] => 2005-12-13 19:20:07 [hometext] => This is a slight re-write of one of my previously posted poems [bodytext] => I often sit and ponder

At this very special time of the year

Would I have squandered such a chance

To aid in the birth of a king?

Would it have been important enough

For me to risk everything?

Would I have believed this child was born

Unto all mankind to forgive us for our sins...

And what would I have thought of the meaning

Of a star shining in the east?

Shining with such brilliance

It guided mere men, kings and beasts...

Oh what a sight they must have been the three kings from afar

Sitting so high, wrapped in threads of gold

As close to Bethlehem they drew...

Seeking out the baby born to us, and

Who would one day die for us too...

Much time has come and gone since this blessed night...

And I ask of you, As I have myself

Do you guide your soul by Jesus' light?

Please let us take a moment

Not much more is necessary to say

Remember this holiday is about the son of God

And what was given to us when he was born

So happy birthday Jesus!

And thank you for this day! [comments] => 2 [counter] => 183 [topic] => 18 [informant] => summerwine [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Holiday Poetry )
