You struck me
not with hands or words
but your rebuke still
cut me like a sword
your words
ring in my ears
"I'm not cold now."
I was told, now
to give a lady my jacket when she's in need
but apparently, you weren't as cold as you seemed
or was that just me
was I just weak with infatuation
or more likely drank with sudden saturation
of oblivious passion
no, I wasn't makin any passes
but
you read me like a book
understood the love I was offering you
and for some reason I couldn't overlook
refused it
refused me
so I was forced to see
that once again, she doesn't love me
