Skirted, they rise gaily
I speak of the men
On elegantly gowned ladies arms
They take to the floor again
With Tartans many
Colours loud
They shout thier heritage
Strong and proud
Cheeks aglow, smiles bright
Every woman feels a lady tonight
With grace and dignity
They spin and prance
Skipping time as they join the dance
One two three skip
Back, one two three
Turn again, turn again
Moving in harmony
The gentlmen resplendent
Take thier ladies hand and bow
Eyes meet, smiles cross
Laughter, at something whispered low
Feet are tapping, hands are clapping
twirling kilts go by
The beat pacing, your heart racing
The spectacle before your eye
Under the arches
Loop the Loop
A bit of a jig
A cheer and a whoop
Flushed faces, and laughter
As we share a wee dram
What a joy it has been
To be a guest of this clan

"Every woman feels a lady tonight"

Unfortunate phraseology. A break from the usual emo crap, however.

Keep writing.

I've read your catalogue, and this is one of your best. I really enjoyed the subject and imagery, and the metre and rhyme were smooth and light.
You obviously enjoyed writing this one.

Good stuff,

Spike

It's like I was there, a great poem.

Take care.
