and friends fade away;
you weren't much of a friend that day
and you cast me out of your life.
Oh, I know, you blame your knife
that you kill yourself with, nightly,
but that you never try to stop;
I would never say it's all your fault
but really, the least you could do is try.

I'm better off now;
better off without you or him
and I'm stronger within
and moving on, away;
I'm sorry, but I'm gone today
and I'm never, never coming back.
The past simply must remain the past
and exes, whether friends or lovers,
are exes for a reason.

Don't try to say
it shouldn't be this way;
we're both happier afterall
and no matter what you want to think,
the truth is just what you saw;
I've moved on and so have you
and you don't want me back.

Time passes
and friends fade away;
