as the snow falls
and I'm sighing
outside is oh so cold
and here inside
I am silently crying,
memories of adventures
and of so many vices
have me wondering
why is it all the bad things are enticing.

I had a love
and the chase was oh so inviting
and when I caught her
all night I was smiling,
but then something went wrong
with the one I adore
all the passion was gone
we just couldn't get it on
I was needed no more.

Like a cat chasing its tail
round and round
I will never be free,
once I catch that scent
thee animal in me is released
I'm coming now...

As I stumble and start fall down
I no longer have the nerve
to ask why me again
cause I see it's my destiny
so there's no sense in complaining,
I'm captain danger blazing
addicted to chasing
cause you see
everything I don't need is oh so enticing.

...ain't it ironic...but...

...I read a book by the author of Johnathon Livingston Seagull titled, "Illusions: Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah." It has a far east bent...the part your poem brought to the forefront was a quote that went something like this: "There is no problem, difficulty or experience that doesn't have a gift hidden somewhere within." "Enticing activities" qualify as an experience...perhaps they keep coming back because you still need to find their "gift."

...whatever...(I've got a dumb grin on my face)...the ability to think is way over-rated!!!
