Array ( [sid] => 110640 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Hope [time] => 2005-11-30 15:33:39 [hometext] => I wrote this after an realizing that I had fallen for someone who would never return the feelings that I had [bodytext] => You were unreachable
Looming above me like a shooting star
And I looked upon you like an adoring star gazer
Longing to have you
But knowing I never would

Secretly I claimed you
Pulling you into my heart
And wrapping you up tightly
So you could never escape

And then you fell
You fell into my arms
And I was stunned beyond all belief
To touch a star was unthinkable
And it caused a spark

I nursed this fire that you started
Feeding it kindling and bark
So that it could grow strong
And soon it burned stronger
Than any other before it
But, I stayed cautious
For i had been burned before

But as I grew bolder
I began to throw larger pieces upon the fire
Letting caution fly to the wind
Until it grew to a point
Where I could no longer see past or around it

The world was gone
And all I could see was that glorious fire
But as it grew
It's heat intensified
Until it was so hot
That it burnt and seared my flesh
And I grew afraid

I ran from fire that I had built
And when I returned
All that remained was a small whisper
Of what had once been
But that little flame
It was resiliant
It burned me deeper
Than anything that I had ever felt
Scaring my heart and soul

And so it lingers
Never dying
Even though the fire is dead
And the wood is wet
That flame doesn't go out
It feeds on every misleading phrase
And whispered complement

And until you finally douse this flame
It will continue to burn for you [comments] => 4 [counter] => 573 [topic] => 33 [informant] => jessie53067 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SecretLove )
