Array ( [sid] => 110563 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => All i wanted was you [time] => 2005-11-29 09:10:53 [hometext] => this was written because i know i am not the only one who gets too busy to stop and hug their kid. this poem was written about my son [bodytext] => all i wanted was you

mama can i help you cook?
may i just watch you and learn
i want to be just like you
can i stir it just one turn
i washed my hands and even used soap
i promise not to get in the way
you said last time that i could
i was hoping that it would be today
mama looked at me with impatience
and shook her head with a sigh
i do not have time to show you
run along and play maybe next time
i hung my head low and tears began to fall
all i wanted was to be there with her
but she was too busy, i slipped on down the hall
after a few minutes had passed by
i heard footsteps coming my way
i dried my eyes and tried to look busy
with arms open wide she began to say
come here my child i'm so very sorry
i have been too busy to give you my time
you deserve much more of my love
and yes...today would be just fine

Gee--how often do we forget that not only our words bring life or death, but busyness can too. Actions speak louder than words--it's true you know!

Continue to be inspired!

Aww, it's so sad, we do get busy, and the ones that need just a little of our time to be happy seem to get deprived. I don't have a child, but I have a nephew, and I can always tell when he seems to get lonely, there so cute =D lol and all they want is to be with someone who cares. Very nice write, tender.
