Array ( [sid] => 110529 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The River [time] => 2005-11-28 18:28:14 [hometext] => about two indian lovers, one touchable, the other touchable - a match forbidden by their society. written by the man's ghost [bodytext] => You travelled up through a dream
A one armed man swam to you and held you close to him,
The air grew thin, the river swollen,
He left a trail of goosebumps when he left your skin

Then you woke up with a shiver,
Stood and stared into the mirror,
So empty within, without a lover,
....So you walked down to the river

I was born with untouchable skin
They’re tellin’ me its a sin to love, to feel for one of them,
My heart bled yes but my head said no -
they're gonna hunt and slay you like a rhino if you go

But I walked down to the river
There to find the one I'd live for
Though I could feel the chill of the troubled water
.. I swam upstream against the river,

They can lead us to fire, they can raze us with canes,
they can bleed us dry, but when they die,
will they get back to from where they came?
like blood runs to the sea,.... they’ll see

You said you felt safe next to me,
Though it was the most dangerous place you could be,
As sure as the river runs to the sea,
They’re gonna tie you up in chains If they find you layin' with me,

They found me on the wrong side of the river,
They pound me as my love looked on in terror,
Two broken legs, one arm severed,
That’s where my blood flowed to the river

They can lead us to fire, they can raze us with canes,
they can bleed us dry, but when they die,
will they get back to from where they came?
like blood runs to the sea,.... they’ll see [comments] => 3 [counter] => 178 [topic] => 39 [informant] => buddhistpunk [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 13 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )
