Array ( [sid] => 11047 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Can't Stop It [time] => 2003-01-23 17:20:00 [hometext] => *Its my birthday today (the 22nd) and I feel so great *smiles sarcastically*. This is a long angry, dark, suicidal poem. Just describes what I am... Enjoy... Take away from it what you will.* [bodytext] => I stare at the face in the mirror
I hardly recognize it
So bruised and broken
Eyes swollen and blackened
Blood rollin from my arms
Blood tricklin down my legs
Can't stop it, can't stop it
Can't stop the tears from comin either
Don't know if their tears of joy
Or perhaps of sadness

I stare deep into the mirror
Like we have some sort of bond
A sense of calm washes over me
I turn on the water and watch
In morbid fascination as it turns
From clear to red bouncing off my arms
Can't stop it, can't stop it
The blood returns and like
Some naive nanny turn on the tap
As if it can wash my problems away and make me better

I look in the mirror once more
Slowly it whites out my face
In a panic I grab it
As if my face is behind it
Poking it searching for a memory chip,
But all I succeed is getting blood all over the mirror
Can't stop it, can't stop it
I slump to the ground curl up to the wall
Losing every shred of sanity
Feeling naked and invisible

My face a white mask
All I can see are the tears running down
And maybe the fear seeping out of every pore
You come in, smile your sympathies,
But I see your wide eyes staring at my cuts
I mumble through fear bloodied lips
Can't stop it, can't stop it
You run, terrified like my cuts are a disease
Like they'll graft themselves onto my skin
I cry like a zombie, grab at my mangy hair

You approach me like I have AIDS
Aren't you glad your not like me?
That the voices don't assault you?
I just need someone to care
Thats all I need...
You shake your head and turn away
Can't stop you, can't stop you
From running away
Can't stop me, can't stop me
From cutting again
And that's exactly what I'll do
I've got a problem
To bad you didn't see it

Oh Joel this made me cry so hard my friend...i do so hope that you find in life that you are such a beautiful person and that you do not allow hurt and pain upon yourself in this manner the rest of your days to come....you truly are a beautiful person...one which i treasure in all my days as my friend..

Happy Birthday to You....my friend..i hope the people in your life realize just how special you are...and that your day is full of sunshine and rainbows to come....know that you can talk to me anytime you need....and i will listen..you already know this.....you have taken me back in time so much with your writings...my heart aches for your pain...

Love from me on your birthday Joel. Everyone here who has read your poems knows the heart of you...the core of you...and we are privaleged that you trust us enough to bare your soul in this way. Keep pouring the pain into your writing...it's one way of shedding those tears that you are unably to cry.
A big hug
Chrissie xx

I hope this is a way of expression and not from experience but if it is from experience, Joel, you do not need to do this
Like Oreo said, you're beautiful... how do we know? because everyone is beautiful in their own way and no one should have to feel the pain that you have displayed here..NO ONE! So next time you look in the mirror tell yourself that... and remember it's okay to cry because every time you do you are renewed
until the point comes where you'll find peace and you won't have the need to cry anymore... I hope you find that soon...Happy Belated Birthday by the way! :)
