and in the darkest
dead of night
there we met
our candles glow so bright
we lit our world
on that dead night
and alas our candles
burned so dim
that like the night
we died within
we could not see
the light once bright
how it haunts me
in this dead of night
we followed other lights
glowing bright and strong
but when we arrived we found
the people had long since been gone
despite the erie sound
of match-box laughter
