surrounded by stories we all have a tale
visions of peace and harmony not part of mans path
seeing this freely we put on our masks
time and steel two things in life that are true
we are born to die thats what we do
but its the little things that count the stuff we do in between
these are our thoughts of love and passion and finding our dream

watching the snake in its constant swallow
acting like pigs see how we wallow
stars and planets and the dark emptyness in space
picture us like those rocks we have touch but no taste
looking for fulfillment in the strangest of things
forgetting the voice in your consciousness that sings

bound and gaged animals locked in a cage
what side do you think your on whats fueling your rage
families dying because the land and water are poisioned away
this is not no third world country its right down your way
chemicals sprayed on the food that we eat
steriods and growth hormones even in our meat
man made fruit lining the shelves
do we know what new bacteria dwells

ice is melting and not in our drink
its bloody polution what else do you think
now i am empty another burden of my soul
really i am not here just to only scold
but we are acting like children forgetting our ways
to affraid to face the end of days

Great finish! Gloom comes to life and a challenge for change is in the air.

Your vision of life is very pessimistic in this poem. Much of what you say is true, however.
The serpent swallowing its own tail is a very self-destructive image, which may well serve as a symbol of much human behaviour. But we do I think have a creative side.

Robert Davidson.
