Draping worn souls in past losses and haunting regrets
Frigid autumn air teases with remnants of memories
Icy wind whistles melody of forgotten pleas

Daylight surrenders to its inevitable end
Leaving times sinners alone to deny or defend
Dancing oak trees stripped bare by winter’s impatient hand
Remind that the hourglass continues to spill its sand

Dry crisp leaves rustle across dead grass darkened by night
November clouds diminish crescent moons shining light
Splashed haphazardly, twinkling stars grace blackening skies
Waiting to be captured and placed in hopeless lover’s eyes

All the day’s color washed from earth as evening grows bold
Stories illuminated by light remain untold
Fate steps forward boldly to collect passing day’s debts
Judgment finds comfort amongst shadows and silhouettes
