The turkeys in the oven
The stuffing has been sealed
The salad has been assembled
The potatoes have been pealed

The noodles have been boiled
The cranberries has been stirred
The gravy is being assembled
Awaiting broth from the bird

The cheesecake looks delicious
The pumpkin pie looks divine
The ice tea has been made
A substitution for the wine

The plates are neatly arranged
The napkins have their rings
This is shaping up
To be a dinner for a king

So come gather at the table
Fold your hands and thank our God
And try not to over-eat
Though it’s going to be hard

I must admit, that last line stopped me for a couple of seconds. LOL
Great poem! I could just see all that wonderful food in my mind's eye as I was reading.
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
Jennifer

And try not to over-eat
