...I am an admirer of authenticity...poetry that uses written words, not written words that use poetry...as you write, technique and political correctness will likely follow, but the important thing is that you express your heart, soul and spirit without reserve...you do that pretty well, so, in my rather small world where I rule, you would be considered a good poet.

...your poem sounded so much like me when I was a kid...I suffered from severe depression from childhood up until last year...get help...there is help...my chemistry was off...really off...I am presently taking the highest dose of the antidepressant, Effexor, plus the attention deficit medication, Concerta...night and day...I also saw a counselor umpteen hundred times...

...if life isn't fun...do something about it and don't quit until life is fun...don't wait until you're fifty-three years old, like me...

...good luck and thanks for sharing your spirit...

Aw, so sad. Sorry to hear you're depressed. However, it is a very nice poem. Nicely written. So few words can say so much.

Thank s for sharing and take care.

Good Poem. I have been suffering from depression for over 6 years and I know it is VERY difficult to deal with. I feel poetry is one of the best ways to express yourself when you think no one is listening. I have writtin many poems like this one when I feel down. Don't worry, some how and some way it does get better. You may not think so but it will, just believe in yourself that you can get better. Plus the first step is admitting you have a problem and you have so your one step closer than I was.

Hang in there...

Nicki

An interesting poem. The 5th line doesn't make sense to me, like it was put there for the sake of rhyming, which is a shame because this is a good poem otherwise. I also suffer from depression and you have described it well. There IS hope. Seek help, there are several different options, like therapy, medication or alternatives such as herbal remedies and aromatherapy. I also want to invite you to PM me if you ever need to talk with some one. A problem shared is a problem halved they say and if I can help I would like to. When you are stuck in depression it is easy to feel alone, you are not alone. **HUGS** , Jenny.

Oh sweetheart I just came out of a giant depression. May your heart be filled with the spirit. If you message me, I can give you some poems I have discovered that helped me get well, wonderful writers that care here at YPDC. It is my turn in giving back what others gave to me here on this site, all love and healing.

From my little book, Apples of Gold by C.R.Gibson

Those who have suffered much are like those who know many languages; they have learned to understand all and to be understood by all

Telling your troubles always helps. The world'd dumb indifference makes you mad enough to keep on fighting...

All problems become smaller if you don't dodge them but confront them. Touch a thistle timidly and it will prick you; grasp it boldly and its spines crumble.

Bless you dearest one...

Here is a quote from me to you...

I am an unknown author, but my words are not unknown... Raquel Leah :D

WOW !!!

Your feelings jumped off he page.
Icould feel your sadness.
The ryming is very good except for the last line.
I think you should have ended something like this.
"Because I am so sad I had to express"
Other than the last line it is pefect. :)
When you write you help others and that may help
you feel happier.

This is a sad poem, but I still had to smile
because of it.
