A Love Song

A Love Song

My heart aches with a hunger
only you can fill…
My soul trembles with a fear
only you can still…
I've walked this earth a lonely wanderer
searching for a peace
I've finally found
in you…

…when I see the softness creep across your face
it makes anyplace we might be
sacred and holy,
sacred and holy…

I have a dream I want to share with you,
of summer breezes and morning dew,
of hearts entwined,
of children laughing
a whole life through
with you…
Together we'll share the mountain tops,
and walk the valleys in the peace
we've finally found
in each other…

…when I see the softness creep across your face
it makes anyplace we might be
sacred and holy,
sacred and holy…

you are so talented for describing such a wonderful feeling. This made me think of the way my boyfriend makes me feel...he can always make me smile no matter how bad I feel about myself or the world...This poem is a truly elegant piece of work ....thank you sooo much for sharing it

  • Aw, this is so sweet!

The imagery here is awesome, as are the feelings portrayed.

    Good work.
