Array ( [sid] => 109719 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => LOVELY WINTER QUEEN [time] => 2005-11-14 16:56:04 [hometext] => On my way to Colorado, from Wyoming, this is the beautiful scene I viewed. Snow falling in the Rocky Mountains.........and then my memories of my skiing there...... [bodytext] =>

LOVELY WINTER QUEEN

Lovely Winter Queen cold bare feet of frost,
Your soft white gowns laden diamonds embossed.
Majestic sculpturing, crisp chilling creativity.
Hand sewn blankets float cozy covers comely

Your lover Jack Frost paints places you miss,
Nimble, naughty, never finished love's bliss
Embracing critters under his ice for survival,
Near your inner heart sleeping bears cuddle,

Ah Lovely Queen of Winter, you kindly hesitate,
'Til harvest is done, round mounds of hay--you wait,
Preparing your lovely gown with it's long train.
Material so fine called Colorado Powdered Champagne.

Hospitality you emit, your greatest characteristic
You bond with mighty mountains to perform your magic
Welcoming everyone young, small, old and tall.
Splendid Skiing you encourage with each snowfall

A feeling of Awesome accomplishment is your challenge
Thin boards attached and down a steep side we plunge
My bones are old now, I wouldn't even dare......
yet,
I will n'er forget, as down your train I slid
safe in your loving care.

Hi ConSue!
Ylu did it again. With these luring and delightful poems you awaken memories of my childhood. Oh wintry it was indeed. And mother used to tell us the story of te Snow Queen and Snow Princess, with a picture book to go wit it.
And I went skiing too, but sometimes later on. And loved it so000000000.
This lovely work awakens all the sweetest memories.
Pictures too a glorious, just as the poem is.
Thanks so much for sharihg it with us.
Warm love
Elizabeth
