Array ( [sid] => 109091 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Parts [time] => 2005-11-04 18:54:15 [hometext] => Inspired by looking at a picture accidentally taken of someone's feet--silly, huh??? [bodytext] => The feet shout: "Hey, we're the most important part
Over the head and the eyes and even the heart!
We take the body where it wants to go;
To a friend's house or sometimes to a foes.
We hold the body so straight up and tall.
We keep it well balanced so it won't fall!"
The case of importance is argued over and over again
By the eyes, nose, mouth, and heart, and even by the chinny chin chin.
Why is it so important to be considered so high
Can't the parts get along with each other? I simply cry...
How come so many churches, other religions will ask?
If we believe in the same God--In His Son-shine we bask...
Let the churches not compete for who's best,
But show His love, by that we can be blest.
After all, the feet are important in their role and field;
Yet the eyes can see the way and the hands can reach and feel,
The heart is considered the center of man,
While the brain acts as the central of command.
Each part is important and others are too!
Without one part, the body's functions aren't cool!
That's just the way with all the churches around,
When working together, true peace will be found!
Let's all come together and unite hand-in-hand.
Let's all pray for each other keeping God as command.
We may still function as unique individual groups here,
But remember each other as sisters and brothers dear!
As the other religions may gawk and ask why,
Let's start to reach out with God's love--Come on -- Let's try!
If they begin to see us all work side by side,
The His harvest will come and His love will abide!

I liked how you used the feet to carry out this poem, and I am happy the picture helped this poem to be created. Such a lovely poem. The feet are screaming out, saying, I will carry you along, if you allow those other parts to stay alive, and so they do, and so the feet walk. I can see the feet being used as a metaphor as well, not in the actual walking on the ground, but also, walking in spirit. Not everyone has feet, so this is why I say this, walking with the Lord in the respectful setting that you created, the parts, becoming many parts to equal the whole being, not just one, but all helping out, one big giant picture here.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
