We got a car. We got freedom.
Windows rolled down radio screaming
our anthem blaring we sing along
It’s summer no school no parents no rules
we rule the world and this town
living like there’s no tomorrow
man these are the days
where anything can happen
and they do happen
but with a cost

Bad news comes in tempos
we could never afford
these mistakes that we make
so we’re stuck stranded
and wrecked beyond repair
bad news always comes in tempos

So young so fragile
too innocent to play
these games we’re playing
If you’re willing to play
you got to pay the cost
well pay we did
and the cost was great
sitting on the sidewalk
waiting for the city bus
to take me away for good

c

Looking out the window
watching the city fade
into a blur of white lights
I wonder was this worth it?
was this the biggest mistake
or the best thing ever?
I’ll never know until
down the road
but I wont regret it
I followed my heart
It never let me down
