Consumed By the Worms

I told the girls,
last night,
of my thoughts of suicide;
I read them the poem that explained how it would be accomplished if ever the time came.
They responded like loving daughters would:
"Oh, Dad"
"We love you."
"Don't even think that."

It was then that I explained:
(or rather, I would have if I had thought of it then,)
There is physical pain,
and there is emotional pain.
It's like a person with cancer;
For some,
the time comes
when the pain is too much for them to bear;
Though the many standing around their bed
Love them supremely,
and will miss them horribly when they are gone,
the cancer victim is overcome by the pain and hopelessness,
and simply wants to die;
to die,
and get it over with.

Some say;
Many say,
that physical pain withers in the presence of emotional pain;
The pain of torn emotions,
raw, twisted gangrenous feelings,
like a colony of worms,
eats into the heart,
consumes the soul,
and devours the spirit.
For some,
the time comes,
when the weariness of battle completely overwhelms them,
they moan,
I am so tired of this body,
so tired of the pain,
so tired of dying,
and they plead;
God,
Father,
Daddy,
I want to come Home...
[Sob...]
I just wanna' come Home.

. . .

If that time ever comes for me,
Honeys,
Know I Love you,
I cherish the Love you have shown for me,
and that the same physics that motivates the clouds,
also guided my path...
but,
though I did my best,
and I gave it my all,
in the end,
I was painfully,
agonizingly,
hopelessly,
overpoweringly,
consumed by the worms.

I am not one to judge others or tell them what to do but, if this is some thing that you are thinking about doing you realy need to think about what it would do to your daughters, how they would take your self-death. This was a well writen poem and worded very well you do have a way with using commen words to there fullest, do keep it up. read you later.
