After a trip down memory lane, I have this to offer - undated it is, but not yet forgotten *** [bodytext] =>

Weeping even, seems not enough
To wrench this aching from my core
With unrelenting intensity
It insists there must be more

I have cried out into the night
Lowered my voice to a weak moan
Dissatisfied still, it maintains
The answer as yet unknown

I have battled it within dreams
I’ve rocked to and fro in the dark
Yet the aching lingers in my chest
Pushing hard against my heart

But each time my eyes beheld you
And when we closed our eyes to kiss
Something wonderful would happen,
My heart pushed back a bit

The struggle between the two of them
Makes the answer abundantly clear
The ache would go, I’d be heart full
If only… you were here. [comments] => 13 [counter] => 890 [topic] => 24 [informant] => Silent-No-More [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 51 [ratings] => 16 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LoveRemembered )

Prettily old fashiioned. I always loved the fact that Barrett and Browning wrote to each other and that formed the beginnings of my own inspirations, although it has taken different turns in the past few years. I love that word intensity, don't you? :-)
Blessings, J.

That was just so beautifully sad. So romantic and so heart breaking at the same time.

The feelings behind this piece are wonderful Snem. It really is something people should read, to get inspired like you did.

Amazing write as usual.

Jane~

oh, snemmy. A beautiful piece of longing and struggle
within the heart. I so relate. And how wonderful
that you can draw inspiration from Browning, (one
of my favourites!). This write touched me snem.

"I hear a voice, a distant murmur
the tortured enticings of suffering lovers
such delicately delicious emotions
tender longings and soulful mentations"

A heartfelt account of love's lament. That feel of simultenous pleasure and pain. The aching of longings for a love and the accompanying distress of separation or loss. Shades of Shakespear's "Romeo! Romeo! where art thou". If you pardon my pun.

I like the honesty and simplicity of this very much. It's ok to give in to love ( smiles)

Very well done

What an outstanding line, "...my heart pushed back a bit." A delightful image spoken with such poetry. Marvelous poem. Your homage to Browning has created a success for you.
