Your cheeks flush as you preen
No image is seen but there you are
Acting like you met your shining star

Your heart begins to race and skip a beat
You mind rushes in to scream "No it's not neat"
"Beware your heart, Don't play the fool"
But its too late, Your heart has broke the rule

You've become once again what you've tried to fight
Your heart became involved even when you know its not right
You try and try to reign your emotions in
Telling yourself it must be a sin

You tell yourself "Love is not found on the internet"
That the words seen there are from someone never met
That they are not even meant for you
but for a character who isn't true

Someone you've created from imagination alone
only to take on part of your life and be shown
You put a part of you in each one you've drawn
And then you play them like they were a pawn

"It's just a game" they always tell you
"Keep them separate, keep them true blue"
But it takes heart to give one life
It takes soul to live through strife

So here you are once more
Your heart shattered on the shore
The game is over, the character gone
Your left to pick up the pieces and move on

But its not that easy when your hearts involved
The character you created, around which you revolved
When she fails at love and gets a shattered heart
Your the one that has to step in and play the part

Your not suppose to let yourself feel
Your not suppose to think what you feel is real
You try to remember that its only a game
But your heart gets involved just the same

Cogently done. Battles between logic and emotion is never clear and never done, never over with. Virtuality is a whole new playing field. Who doesn't go through this personally?
Keep writing. Blessings, J.
