~~~~~
More rain for another day
The trees from the wind start to sway
Back and forth, they seem to weave
As they drop their golden leaves
The darken sky hides the sun
Like bandits on the run
The sound of thunder cuts so deep
Awaking children from their sleep
With coffee in hand, I watch it pour
From the window of my sliding door
Oh summer, where did you go?
Soon this rain will turn to snow
I’m just not sure I’m ready for this
And this up-coming holiday bliss
But like it or not, autumn is here
And closely behind, winter I fear
Ahhh this has special meaning to me in this particular year, only because I am hoping to experience winter for the first time... (Hoping to spend Christmas in New York). Since we have just 2 season per year on the islands..wet and dry..I will be glad to see some snow instead of all the rain that we have.
Lovely write, Jeff
Hugs to Chris..
Jenni
Oh yes, lovely, this poem matches nature here in Oregon, and also my feelings go with the flow of seasons. Much loved poem... eye and heart ready, looking at you from a distance, your words share..
