I explore past history
Which serves as my compass
To regain the proper direction

That our focus for today
Live on to be yesterdays' testimony
Of stalwart effort in the right direction
To help build our foundations for the future

Let pleasant memories flood the highways of our mind
Allowing minimal space for sadness and misery to maneuver
Not to rest on our laurels
Rather moving onward to new horizons

Sometimes we make a wrong turn
This becomes a challenge and decision to discern
So that we may hopefully prevent serious mishaps
Instead to get back on track

So many experiences to sort through
And decipher what they all mean
May our life impart wisdom to us
That we may ultimately discern our destiny [comments] => 5 [counter] => 166 [topic] => 61 [informant] => Willofree [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

While I have to agree about the flow, it was an extremely inspirational write and one I thoroughly enjoyed...

Agreed........yet I feel, we can turn our destiny.! Take the other path and see what is there.! Yes, there are MANY obstacles,. I know that ALL to well.! But, hurdle over them. May take a little time, but DO IT!
Loved the write.

Reading this, it makes me feel like I'm sneaking a peek in someone's diary. It just has that in-the-moment mindspill appeal to it. I enjoy writes such as this, because it's good to get them out onto the page, and just release those feelings. Nicely done!

Here here!! Great write Will! Very reflective poem.
I especially liked,
"Not to rest on our laurels
Rather moving onward to new horizons"

I know more than a DOZEN people who could learn
a thing or two from that ....

Thanks for sharing this.
