You had waited for so long
You took that little bundle home
As new parents you‘d do no wrong

I’m sure you did your best
To raise him how you should
To teach him all he’d need to know
The best way that you could

Say mommy and say daddy
And don’t go in the road
Yes please and no thank you
His manners he would know

Then you helped with math
And taught to read and write
What a big boy he’s becoming
Your hearts are filled with pride

But the one thing you’ve forgotten
and the main one he needs to know
Is how you treat the other kids
Instead of putting on a show

You shouldn’t push the smaller kids
Or throw them to the ground
You shouldn’t call them nasty names
Just cause there’s no one big around

Don’t hurt someone because their different
Don’t make the others cry
You didn’t think he had it in him
To be that kind of guy

But that’s what he is
Your sweet and handsome son
He’s the schools biggest bully
That thinks he’s better than everyone

Sometimes I’d like him to walk in our shoes
To see that its not so fun
But because of the way my parents raised me
I wouldn’t wish that on anyone [comments] => 2 [counter] => 193 [topic] => 43 [informant] => kaysea [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
