Switch on the lamp

switch it back on in three quarters

Apparently you'd never reach a minutes, dividing the time by half at every step leads to infinite intermediate steps, which should take infinity to reach a minutes, infinity in a minutes? yeah right, didn't the poets say so?. Also the lamp would neither be off or on, as at everystep it is switched on, it is switched off the next. The above is a Johnson's Lamp Paradox derived from one of the Zeno's Paradoxes

Yes dear friend that is the puzzle of TIME.
It was created for our benefit.
There is a lot to say about this puzzle, but that would take a lot of time.
St. Augustin devoted to this puzzle a whole chapter. "TIME"

You are to be commended to dwell so deeply on this subject.
Blessings
Elizabeth

Ah, but what of "a single minute" (or... even... portions of one)?

"Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity."
~Albert Einstein

Preferring those moments that seem fleeting for their utter fabulousness,

(who spends a fair amount of 'time' pondering the same)
