[bodytext] => Children's Voices

Children's voices,
mingled with the wind,
like a faint autumn memory
fills my heart
and lifts my soul,
for somewhere near
I know there lies
a field of innocence,
hope for tomorrow,
a smile today.

But,
off in the distance,
away from the throng,
tears are flowing,
sobs are felt,
a cry is heard...
Some child's soul
brims with emotion,
and like the ever rolling sea
fills silent eyes
with bitter tears.

From an uncontrollably heaving heart,
a throbbing soul,
life's happiness flows,
leaving hot salty tears
on soft dimpled cheeks,
hardening with time.

This reminds me of a playground ... the last child chosen for a team ... always the feeling of inferiority ... or the odd one out, never asked to play ... that sits alone, with just their pain for company ... hoping one day ... someone will notice.
