Array ( [sid] => 107909 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Color of Romance [time] => 2005-10-17 11:54:32 [hometext] => This poem is about when somebody touches your heart they can be taken away from you in a moments time. The memories you carry with you seem like it was only a few hours ago, when really, it was decades ago. [bodytext] => Hand her a diamond encrusted rose,
Upon a silver platter.
It will only reflect a face of loneliness
And a cascade of tears,
Watering the shallow-hearted rose.
Memories fill her head of her love that’s departed.
Like only days had gone by instead of decades,
She tells her story so perfect, as if it were in the present.
Looking up with despair in her eyes,
She sees her love glide across the floor towards her,
With charm and elegance slowly removing his disguise.
A face she hasn’t seen in ages,
Drops of sweat building on his upper lip,
He flashes her smile she’ll never forget.
Suddenly a piercing gun shot is heard.
In a panic she strokes his wounded chest.
The color of romance, blood red,
Pours from his wounded chest.
Weeping over his body now on the stone cold dirt path,
She grasps his bloody hands with hers.
And at that moment his eyes shut,
She knows there destined to never open again.
She savors that moment of his last breathe,
His last words spoken in her ear.
A secret that will never leave her mouth.
And till this day, there is a place in her heart,
That holds his smile… [comments] => 0 [counter] => 187 [topic] => 73 [informant] => Alliee [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 7 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
