I close my eyes,
And you’re there,
Watching,
Waiting,
For me?
No, not for me.

But when I open my eyes you’re gone,
Reality overcomes me and,
I realize you’re not coming back.

You heard me say ‘I love you’ hundreds of times,
You felt my lips on yours.
But that wasn’t good enough for you was it?
You wanted more.

More than I could give you,
Or at least that’s what you said.
Did you even really love me?

You said you did,
But words can lie.

Words that lie,
And cause pain,
A constant pain that never goes away.
An unimaginable pain,
A sickening pain,

Lying Words

I close my eyes,
And you’re there,
Watching,
Waiting,
For me?
No, not for me.

But when I open my eyes you’re gone,
Reality overcomes me and,
I realize you’re not coming back.

You heard me say ‘I love you’ hundreds of times,
You felt my lips on yours.
