[hometext] => Sitting on my rooftop, I watched the moon and sun and wrote this. Would love some comments.
[bodytext] => This haunted masque of grey This blanched face of despair This phantom of dismay This pocket of prayer She's the face of a beast She's the hands of a priest O, watching from a spine entrenched in earth Inanimately, I'm lying O, so desperately crying This moon arcing above my head - - will she stalk the sun forever? This beacon of hope This flare of betrayal This forward-thinker This sun never looks into the shadow O, deep enterprise O, brand new day O, fair daylight Push the moon away! She moves with cold lust She conceals her motives in the clouds She sinks into the earth in search of her quarry She is dispelled with each shattered window of daylight I'll paint a picture I'll see a vision I'll compose a melody To take me to the future O, see the ripples she leaves in the silken sky? Her hatred is endless. I'll not comply. I raise my lantern to the moon, and walk into the haze.
