Underneath the star studded sky
Where dreams and wishes are made
A lonely angel wondered why
Her life had been betrayed

Where once love had resided
Now emptiness did dwell
The chambers of her heart
Had a tragic story to tell

Once she walked among humans
Lived her life to the full
She met a wonderful boy
But he talked a load of bull

He promised her the world
He filled her with desire
Everything seemed perfect
But he wound up being a liar

He told her she was everything
The one true love of his life
That there was no other
But he ended up having a wife

The betrayal she could not bear
Her life was now forlorn
Ordained by bitter hate
Her heart lay battered and torn

In her car she takes to the road
Crying with tear filled eyes
No one knows what happened that day
Or why the young girl dies

So underneath the star studded sky
A lonely angel weeps
For what she had and what she lost
And of what she could not keep

Lonely Angel

Underneath the star studded sky
Where dreams and wishes are made
A lonely angel wondered why
Her life had been betrayed

Where once love had resided
Now emptiness did dwell
The chambers of her heart
Had a tragic story to tell

Once she walked among humans
Lived her life to the full
She met a wonderful boy
But he talked a load of bull

He promised her the world
He filled her with desire
Everything seemed perfect
But he wound up being a liar

He told her she was everything
The one true love of his life
That there was no other
But he ended up having a wife

The betrayal she could not bear
Her life was now forlorn
Ordained by bitter hate
Her heart lay battered and torn

In her car she takes to the road
Crying with tear filled eyes
No one knows what happened that day
Or why the young girl dies

So underneath the star studded sky
A lonely angel weeps
For what she had and what she lost
And of what she could not keep

This is so heartbreakingly sad...The two of you and your emotive words, flowed so very well together though! I am getting ever more impressed by these co-writes. I admit, I was never a fan of them before, but I have read some really good ones on here....This being one of them for sure.
Well done you two.
I look forward to another in the future: )

A beautifully sad, well-told story of a girl betrayd by a heartless man. I can feel the heart-break behind every word.

Hey Susie Q!! (and Eddy too)
This was an exquistite write. So beautifully tragic. Sweet and
yet so painfully mournful it imparts a tear stain on my heart....
Wonderful write, you two. *****

eternal_dreamer, first I want to thank you again for commenting on my very first poem.
The poem you two created here is very stimulating to my senses. Reading it made me feel as empty as that little angel, I feel a very deep emotional stress from reading this piece, so you know its fantastic. Yes, decorated so beautifully sad, makes me tear up terribly. Yes, both of you writers who created this wonderful poem are extremely talented, I like this immensely, my joy is boundless.

A wonderful poem about love and loss....and everything before, between, and after.
Beautifully done, you two!
"....For what she had and what she lost...." is my favorite line; it expresses in so few words the oh-so-great difference between having had....and having lost.
Great write, as usual!
