what is at its centre?
Go deeper, its empty

Clay molded into a vessel
Its usefulness is
in its empty hollowness

Water tastes heavenly
as tastelessness is
in its character

Most precious diamonds
are the ones that
lack any colour

Windows and doors
what use they would be
but for their emptiness?

Valleys never fail
to cast their spell
for they are vacant

Sumptuous feasts
we'd ne'er enjoy
on a stomach full

We could be of some use too
if we were not so full
so full of ourselves [comments] => 5 [counter] => 199 [topic] => 21 [informant] => remote [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Hey J,
I see you've been pondering on philosophical issue lately. Very good. Good poem, will dissect it and send conclusion to you later...
Keep well!
Alex

Good question R.M.Wilder.

Your heart, it should be sufficiently empty to accommodate all living beings and have some space for other objects and also for passions such as poetry and arts.

Good examples of emptiness with a crushing last line.
