Carry the dove far and high
Passing by contently - then nevermore
Into the shadow of heavens door

And swiftly does the butterfly sprint
From leaf to leaf - if but for a stint
Gracing each with its beauty pure
Then quick to flee - so demure

Gentle is the autumn breeze
Changing all with the greatest ease
Both trees and flowers lay to rest
And begin their slumber without protest

While winter's flaking blanket falls
The bitter cold abruptly calls
Morning frost quickly ensues
And springtime once again's in cue

These seasons change without fail
And each in turn tells its tale
Of life unique and scenic brilliance

So vividly written, with a style that I quite enjoyed. I love your attention to rhyme and metering, and the structure was handled so well. Nicely done!

Nice! I read that first stanza and thought, wow, love the imagery, I have to remember to mention that!
Then I read the next stanza, and the next, and it just became more vivid with each line, let alone stanza! Very poetic : )
This is a great poem, and as always, your flow is smooth as silk! Love the ending too.

Wow ! I love this entirely!!
I have always been of the opinion that I should never
[nor could I ever] live anywhere that I would not be free
to enjoy the changing seasons. And you have captured
each one's beauty exquisitely.
[But I like the one about autumn the best --- go figure!]

Tranquil and serene, dear poet
