And stare into your soul
They’d see a beauty there, in tears
Just longing to be whole

I wish that stars would watch you weep
As teardrops hit the ground
They’d dry your tears and hold you safe
Until you can be found

If only stars could watch you weep
Just stars, and nothing more
Your soul you’d bare to the night air
It’s broken to the core

If only stars could watch you weep
Then even they would dive
They’d fall to earth to hear your tale
To keep your soul alive

I know that stars, they watch you weep
For rain falls from the sky
And with each tear you shed, my friend
The stars join in your cry

The stars my friend, they help you cry
For none alone should weep
So when the rain cascades again
Know stars your sorrows keep [comments] => 20 [counter] => 637 [topic] => 16 [informant] => wachumiri [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 40 [ratings] => 8 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

  • Uh-oh, melting all over again... :P

Well, I struggled to say anything, anything at all,
earlier, and came up with nothing, but I'll have another
    more forceful stab at it.

First, I want to say such a huge thankyou.
We've known each other for.. what, almost three years now, methinks!
Yet, we only got back into contact a week or so ago.
It's great to know that there are such real friendships out there,
and not al of them dissolve into meaningless dust.
    Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!

As for the poem itself, it was incredibly touching..
I loved the flow itself, and the rhyme`n`rhythm.
    Thought-provoking, heart-wrenching, (tear-jerking), piece.

    Brilliant work!

*Slips in another "thankyou" in here :P*

    ~KayT
    (who is. . . smiling ^^ )

Excellent stuff here, and the dedication just made the read *that* much better. Hopefully Katie's doing okay day by day, and she must love this. The style of the poem and just the way you wrote it and the concepts you've used were just so well done, with the rain idea standing out to me most of all. That was probably the strongest part of the poem to me. Just great, plain and simple. Katie must be doing backflips, lol. Fantastic.

Geez...another awesome friendship poem from you! I can't think of a more deserving young lady, to have such a beautifully touching write dedicated to. What more can I say? Your expression, the flow, imagery, feelings...all above par. Great job.

    This is amazing.

I first read one of your poems because of something you said about someone else and I have been inspired ever since.

I think Katie would smile after reading this.

If ever a piece was more heartfelt, I'm not sure I've seen it. It is dedicated to an amazing young lady whom I'm sure, will cherish it and your friendship for all her days. We are lucky to have you here, David, and you make me very proud.
