Then in the silence, on my door, i heard a gentle knock
The door swung slowly open, revealed a wondrous sight
A fairy in such splendour, dressed in a cloak of white

She beckoned me to join her, she held my hand so tight
Up in the air we floated, and flew into the night
A multitude of little folk were waiting in the sky
They cheered and clapped so happily, as we went flying by

We came upon a silver lake, with lilies all around
and as we landed near this place, we heard a lovely sound
A choir of song birds sang to us, a melody so sweet
And baby rabbits skipped and jumped and played around our feet

Fireflies were dancing bright with gliding dragonflies
A vision of such beauty flying right before my eyes
My heart felt such tranquility, my spirit was at rest
I was so proud to be there as their special human guest

The fairy in her cloak of white, told me the time had come
We flew back in a second to the place we had begun
She told me then to close my eyes, a spell she had to make
I opened them, back in my bed, and I was wide awake

Now if I listen carefully, each night as I lay there
I hear the sound of songbirds, singing near, without a care
The sound is soft and soothing, so mellow and so sweet
I smile , then slowly close my eyes,just drift off back to sleep [comments] => 4 [counter] => 238 [topic] => 40 [informant] => gwenevere [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => fantasy )
