Her head held high
Releases a joyful cry
She has won

The armor comes off
She sits with me
Takes my hand in hers
She is fine

The enemy could not touch her
She was stronger than them
The enemy is vanquished
She will never yield

And then she falls forward
Lying prone on the stone floor
I turn her over
See a deep gash along her chest

Her heart peers out from the wound
Trying to keep going
Her eyes haze over
She whispers, "I am fine"

Her breathing becomes ragged
Her skin becomes pale
"He did not touch me," she offers
"I have not been hurt at all"

He hath nearly slain her
Yet she lies with a smile on
"I am fine," she whispers
She is dying, I know

She thinks I cannot value her
With the wounds she now bears
That I could never love
One who had been stolen from me

But I love her still
With her deep, long gash
Her heart has been broken
But it never will be agai [comments] => 2 [counter] => 175 [topic] => 48 [informant] => justkevi [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

A good write. Wow, I almost cried as I read it. The part that said Her Hear Peers From The Wound. Very powerful emotion as well. SLipSiX.
