All these things
are bottled up inside

When a man thinks too deep
he drowns in his own thoughts

Why not try to guess the color of the wind
Will it drive me to the brink of insanity

Trapped in a test tube
Victim of god’s failed experiments with humanity

Set fire to this bridge
As I stand in the middle

Can a lock of your hair keep me from falling to the jagged rocks below
Can I use it to catch myself a lion

Flapping our wings
like sparrows in a hurricane

Using hollow points
to ease your pain

See the world through my eyes
Read the scriptures backwards

String theory gives way to “M” theory
But neither have unraveled the universe

Bruno was burned
because he knew the truth

So I speak to trees
they can keep my secrets

I can’t think of anything else to say
so maybe I’ll put it off one more day

Cyanide under the tongue
to cure my pounding head

If you never hear from me again
I must be dead......... [comments] => 4 [counter] => 335 [topic] => 73 [informant] => poisonpen00ad [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 20 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

this was a very ecclectic poem that covered a wide range of things such as despiration, self scrutiny, and distant pain. As varying as the stanzas were they were all connected under the fact that thinking too much can drive a man to insanity or brilliance. But then, who is to make that distinction? Well done- you got me thinking there.

Life is very much this way, the thinking jumps all around, our hearts put it in order. I look at the air, I see nothing, yet I see everything.

I love this poem, it makes sense to me, we are on the same wavelength. That is good.. no, you are very much alive... you must be, for my heart does not lie.
