do not see me.
the children in the street:
they do not hear me.
The dogs next door:
they do not smell me.
Only the night,
the sincere element ,
envelops my cuticles, tastes me.
seeps through my pores like liquid,
this seems trivial,
yet fleeting experience making me more of Me than
anyone else ever could.
and above the Smog and the smoke and the soot and
the holes in the ozone layer,
The stars are all of a dither
In the soul
of the midnight kerfuffle.

Nice spiritual awakening, how you blend in, with nature.. so innocent here... self nature, so childlike, I love this. even though you say, no one or dogs notice you there...I can hear the sounds of them, and its all a dream.. under those stars as you write.. the world breathing you in, you breathe it in.. parts + parts.. total sum.. wow.

A lot of senses at work, reading this poem..

My son used to do that, go up on top of the roof, to be alone, to think, under those stars of night.

Beautiful. Love the imagery.
"The stars are all of a dither
In the soul of the midnight kerfuffle."

Wow! That is some brilliant writing right there!
*Impression noted!*

This is great - so vivid. I agree with Raquel, you can just see and hear and smell and feel everything. Personally, I go out in the back behind the barn away from the lights and sit under the stars. They are so much brighter and closer out there. Thanks for the good feelings this poem brings.

peace and hugs, john

Yes... I'll forgive you the tomato poem. Roofs are awesome. I actually put a couch on my cousin's roof to facilitate the... doing of such things as sitting on roofs. There're just no bloody lights up there. Hard to write.
Enough rigmarole, though. Great poem.
Take care.

Not on the roof, usually, but I have been up on the tiles at various times of day and night in various abodes. The nocturnal scene you wove is both suburban and earthly as well as other-wordly and mystical. I understand what you say about the great connectedness, the depth of self-awareness that comes in fleeting experiences.

'The stars are all a dither...' what a great finish.

Spike
