Array ( [sid] => 106702 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Saying Goodbye To A True Friend [time] => 2005-09-28 19:33:39 [hometext] => I wrote this early last year when I had to sell my horse, Saint. I know some of you might think i'm a little bit weird writing this about a horse. But Saint was more than that to me, she was my best friend. [bodytext] => I can’t believe that you’re really gone
Because you were always there when things went wrong
You always cheered me up when I wasn’t feeling so strong
You were with me all along

So I wrote this poem to say goodbye to you
Now that you’re not here I don’t know what to do
You were my very first horse
And you’ll always hold a very special place in my heart of course!
Goodbye my gentle mare who was always there
You know I’ll always care
And the memory of you will always be with me everywhere! I can understand this, it sounds silly but I remember when my cat died, I cried for a whole day.

And you're right, they can be the best friend...

Nice poem, you show your feelings well.

Good write,
Phil xxx

Your poem was really thoughtful. I am sorry you had to sell your horse and I am sure that she will never forget you as I'm sure you will never forget her. If you ever want to talk about her I am more than willing to listen.

I know how you feel. I owned a cat when i was younger and had to leave her in new York when i moved to North Carolina. I have not owned another animal since.

The only people that are 'weird' are those that don't love animals: )

I think this is a very nice tribute to your friend. It's sad you had to get rid of her. Maybe you could still visit her from time to time...?

Welcome to YPDC btw!

Scorp.

Nothing wrong with writing about anything you care about.
If something can lift your spirits when you are down, it doesn't matter whether its an animal, an object or a person.
