"...We've already done that."

Embarressment pours through me,
and turns my cheeks a shade of pink that's almost impossible to immitate.
And I'm witnessing your jealousy first rate.
Well if you could stop being so damn suave for like...a second, love,
That'd bring some ease upon the situation.
And as badly as I want to be a fortress that you can't break through,
It's quite the contrary, I must admit, In that awkward silence type of way.
And you fly me in a jetplane halfway acrossed the country to the site where,
on that cloudy night in Arizona, you decided to desert me.

"You need summer to come back" You'd say,
That's the kind of nerve you have.
Forcing me to be more persistent than is healthy.

"No-not the whole thing, just the part where I drove a thousand miles away."
And in the strangest voice...You disagree.

"No, South Carolina isn't good for you, that's not where you're supposed to be."

You have such faith in the fact that you know ME better than I do.
So you'd be...MAD at me if on that night I fell asleep in someone else's arms?
And you made a sad attempt at justifying your mistake by saying,

"Right now all that I care about is your safety, there's not one other thing on my mind."

Then do me a favor and continue being the only one I feel like I can confide in.
Cause it keeps me up, you know?
I have fallen asleep on more than one occasion in a place that I shouldn't.
This ardous feeling is not what I've been praying for.
Make up your mind,
I'm really tired of being the only "silly girl" in your life that's wasting her time.

"My Cinderella, sweetheart, look at the time."
"Oh, right, ten minutes until midnight." [comments] => 2 [counter] => 265 [topic] => 48 [informant] => Angela [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
