And they also come on the hind of bees!

These thorny friends of the rattlesnake.
They stab and jab at the least mistake.
And even if you should wear a glove,
You will still get cut in the midst of love.

Always remember if you're in the sun,
If one walks toward you then turn and run.
If you don’t I am sure that you will find,
These are the pricks of the worse kind.

Very good write, my friend but I beg to differ with ya. I HAVE A BIG OLE CENTURY CACTUS and I just haven't eva seen a rose prick that hurts like the cactus prick but then a prick is still a prick no matter where it comes from.
huggs,
emy

There's also the 'prick' from a scorpion: )

Nicely done with this write, and words of warning! It gave me a smirk...lol

I remember touching a cactus, once... that hurt, a lot.

Thanks for the smile :)

Very deep write indeed.

I hear your words loud and clear. An interrupted connection of many ways in order to get those jerky thrust wounds piercing and poking at us as we go through life, yes and how interesting it is to know that the ones who we are closest to, is where we get the most of those stabs and jabs, oh the joy of love lol. There is a lot of joys though as we have our encounters.

The flower is protected from its enemies by those thorns, weeds are seen as useless, feelings of being undesired are like those sharp tentacles, some are beautiful, tempting us to touch, and to get stung, very undesirable, and the bee like stings we get now and then, overwhelming competition in pursuits of every kind, victory winning over.. pricking us to death.

Great write, I enjoyed your analogies
