Array ( [sid] => 106545 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => God In The Park [time] => 2005-09-26 19:42:43 [hometext] => This poem is about an actual experience I had during our church's Fun Fest summer celebration with an outdoor church service [bodytext] => Majestic giant oak trees scattered about
A picturesque landscape, in the park throughout
The pond with it's spewing water fountain
Sitting there like a giant baptismal font
The band shell, old time music did provide
Later shelter and an alter for the Holy host and wine to reside

We prayed and beckoned Jesus to be near
Present in this holy atmosphere
The warm sun flickered in the mammoth trees
Accompanied by a refreshing breeze
An aura of distorted time and dimension took place
Under nature's canopy love embraced

There seemed to be a spiritual presence
Followed by a heightened sense of His essence
I experienced an awesome mystical sensation
And felt like I was observing a glimpse of creation
Here in the beauty of the park
A vision of people mingling ln old-fashioned garb

It was as if I were peering into a bubble
Which seemed peaceful, without any troubles
All interaction became more subdued
Movement seemed to be slow and very skewed
A silence ensued from which there was no escape
"Surely The Presence" of the Lord was in this place

The feeling here is very intense. How wonderful to have experienced such passion in such a beautiful surrounding. Miracles do happen. Always believe.

Wow Will...you truly brought this experience to life...such vivid imagery, with good rhyming and flow that didn't impede the story at all. Very well done, and what a pleasant day that must have been! Excellent write. Thanks for sharing: )
