The air is getting thin
Feeling the first chills
Birds are flying South
Lady Winter is in the air.

I can smell her scent
The trees are bare
All the flowers asleep
Ready for Winter.

Warm gloves and Winter coat
Keeping me warm as I walk
A red nose, rosey cheeks
Rubbing me hands to keep warm.

Standing here in the park
Closed eyes, head up high as I feel
The first snow flakes setting down
Touching me briddle skin.

Lady Winter made her entrance
Sprinkling her magical touches
As snow is getting thicker
Covering the ground in white.

Lights reflecting on the snow
Making everything seem so serene
Everything and everyone is asleep
When I look upon the first flakes.

This view, so magical like in a fairytale
Not a soul insight, just me standing here
In the park covered with white winter dust
As Lady Winter enters with her Magic touch.

Nats, it's very hard to add to what Ben just said. All I can say is you write beautifully. You are awesome and thank you for sharing that "inner beauty".

I have to laugh when I read this - only because my winter coat is nothing but a windbreaker - not even padded!!! Your beautiful poem did bring me back to the days up north and the magical beauty of the snow and cold. Your writing is very descriptive.

hugs my friend, john

I certainly would agree with you there Nat, Winter is the most magical and msytical of the four seasons.
You have described it perfectly and vividly here
